The Social Security Administration requires SSI and SSDI beneficiaries to report income monthly.

Important reporting details:

  • Beneficiary or Representative Payee are responsible to report changes in work status.
  • Contact the local office when you start working (phone or in person); tell them if you are using any work incentives such as Impairment-Related or Blind Work Expenses, Student Earned Income Exclusion, help from a job coach or co-worker.
  • Report gross wages monthly by the sixth of the month.
January gross wages are reported by Feb. 6.

IMPORTANT: If you receive both SSI and SSDI, report separately to each program.
