SSI and SSDI Wage Reporting

The Social Security Administration requires SSI and SSDI beneficiaries to report income monthly.
Important reporting details:
- Beneficiary or Representative Payee are responsible to report changes in work status.
- Contact the local office when you start working (phone or in person); tell them if you are using any work incentives such as Impairment-Related or Blind Work Expenses, Student Earned Income Exclusion, help from a job coach or co-worker.
- Report gross wages monthly by the sixth of the month.
January gross wages are reported by Feb. 6.
IMPORTANT: If you receive both SSI and SSDI, report separately to each program.
For SSI:

- Fax, mail or drop off paystubs to your local SSA office.

Sign up for monthly email or text wage reporting reminders right from SSA.
If you receive other benefits, earnings of $100 or more must be reported:
- SNAP and Medicaid report to Department of Human Services.
- Housing subsidy report to your housing authority.
