Assistive technology (AT) encompasses a wide range of tools and strategies that help individuals with disabilities participate more fully in everyday activities, education, employment and community life. This introductory session will provide an overview of assistive technology, explore examples across the continuum ranging from lite, mid and high tech, and introduce key categories of AT.

Participants will also learn about a practical framework that is used for making AT decisions, identifying barriers, and matching supports to individual strengths, needs, environments and goals.

Through examples and hands-on exploration, attendees will leave with a better understanding of how person-centered AT decisions are made.
