This Community of Practice in IECMH in Early Intervention training is for professionals who are familiar with core IECMH principles and reflective practices and want to deepen their capacity to apply reflective principles within supervision/consultation settings. We will discuss the central role of relationships, respect, and cultural humility within reflective supervision. This training is aligned with six IMH-Competencies and helps fulfill Reflective Supervision Training requirements for earning and maintaining IECMH-Endorsement®. Facilitated by Susan Dickstein, PhD, IECMH-E®.

Learning objectives:

  • Increase knowledge of mindfulness and reflective practice strategies to support and engage families of infants/young children to promote early relational health.
  • Examine and understand the importance of self-awareness, self-reflection, and cultural influences related to working with infants, young children, and families
  • Identify core reflective practice concepts related to support of and supervision/consultation with providers who work with or on behalf of infants, young children and families
  • Explore the parallel process of our own emotional reactions, cultural experiences, and relationship expectations that serve to facilitate (or get in the way of) engaging with families, co-workers, supervisees, and/or supervisors across infant/early childhood mental health service sectors

Your program will be reimbursed for your time in attendance.
