Join us for an informative virtual session on Peer Supports and learn how this service empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build skills, confidence and independence. During this presentation, representatives from three organizations will share their experiences providing Peer Supports, discuss how their programs work and highlight the positive impact peer mentors can have on the lives of the individuals they support.
Peer Supports are provided by individuals with I/DD who have completed approved training to serve as peer mentors. They use their lived experience to support others in developing skills that promote healthy living, independence, self-determination and effective communication.
Whether you’re an individual receiving services, a family member, a provider or simply interested in learning more, this session is a great opportunity to hear directly from organizations offering Peer Supports and ask questions.
We hope you’ll join us for this engaging discussion and discover how Peer Supports can foster meaningful connections, personal growth and greater independence.
If you need a reasonable accommodation (e.g., ASL interpreter) or materials in an alternate format (e.g. large print) to fully participate in this event, please indicate your request on the registration form.
