This session will provide an overview of key considerations for caregivers and families planning for the future of a loved one with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Jennifer Haskins, Esq., associate attorney at Moonan | Stratton in Providence, will discuss different types of special needs trusts and estate-planning strategies for protecting a loved one’s access to important benefits. Her presentation will include the adult guardianship process in Rhode Island and explore less restrictive alternatives, such as powers of attorney and supported decision-making.
