Supporting Meaningful Employment: Vocational Assessment Mini-Certificate

Vocational Assessment is one of three SME mini-certificate series offered to earn an ACRE certificate. This is an in-person training series instructed by professionals with experience managing and supporting employment services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To earn a certificate, learners are required to attend the modules and mentor/fieldwork sessions listed below and satisfactorily complete one fieldwork assignment. Each module is 3.5 hours and takes place at the Sherlock Center. The mentor/fieldwork sessions are two hours and take place using Zoom.

Vocational Assessment schedule:

  • Sept. 5 (9-11 a.m.) - Orientation and Mentor/Fieldwork Session #1 (Zoom)
  • Sept. 12 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Module 1: Foundations in Community Employment Services and Supports
  • Sept. 19 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Module 2: Work Incentives to Support Employment and Retention
  • Sept. 26 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Module 3: Vocational Assessment I - Getting to Know the Job Seeker
  • Oct. 3 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Module 4: Vocational Assessment II - Person-Centered Employment Planning Process 
  • Oct. 10 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Module 5: Vocational Assessment III - Strategies for Community Exploration and Individualized Job Search Planning
  • Oct. 10 (1-3 p.m.) - Mentor/Fieldwork Session #2 - Vocational Assessment
