Family Employment Awareness Training for Adults (FEAT-A)
Tailored for adults with disabilities and their families, this two-part training introduces employment options in Rhode Island, including supported, customized and self-employment. Participants learn how to access adult service systems and hear directly from adults who are successfully employed.
Each session includes hands-on Action Items designed to help you put new knowledge into practice.
- Session 1 introduces the Strength-Based Career Mapping Guide, a dynamic tool that draws on the jobseeker’s whole life experiences and highlights strengths while considering support needs.
- Session 2 provides a Plan for Employment, helping participants outline interests and create a six-month Discovery Action Plan for exploration.
After the sessions, participants can also choose to receive individualized one-on-one coaching from Sherlock Center employment professionals offering guidance in applying the Action Items and addressing any additional needs to support the journey to employment.
Attendees must attend both sessions. Each session is a live, interactive training offered in person and virtually through Zoom.
