Medicaid Impact: Rhode Islanders share how their funding empowers them
Ondrea Marisa Robinson, 44, of Woonsocket relies on funding to manage her health and maintain her independence.
“My funding pays for medicines, blood work, certain tests, homemaking services, my Rollator walker and other medical equipment,” she said.
Without this support, these necessities could come with an overwhelming financial burden. “The funding makes my life better by me not having to pay for some of the things that might cost an arm and a leg,” she said.
The impact of this funding is significant. “It is important to me, because I need it in order to get what I need so I can be healthy and safe and be able to be seen [by doctors] without having to pay for certain things,” she said. “Without my funding, I wouldn’t be able to receive medical care.”
