Supporting Meaningful Employment: Job Retention and Coaching Mini-Certificate (Wednesday cohort)

Job Retention and Coaching is one of three SME mini-certificate series offered to earn an ACRE certificate. This is an in-person training series instructed by professionals with experience managing and supporting employment services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This mini-certificate series teaches the skills of job retention and coaching. To earn a certificate, learners are required to attend the modules and mentor/fieldwork sessions listed below and satisfactorily complete one fieldwork assignment. Each module is 3.5 hours and takes place at the Sherlock Center. The mentor/fieldwork sessions are two hours and take place using Zoom.

  • Sept. 18 (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.) - Orientation and Mentor/Fieldwork Session #1 (Zoom)
  • Sept. 25 (3:30- 7 p.m.) - Module 1: Foundations in Community Employment Services and Supports
  • Oct. 16 (3:30- 7 p.m.) - Module 6: Employment Law, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Disability Disclosure
  • Oct. 23 (3:30- 7 p.m.) - Module 10: Job Retention and Coaching l - Foundations in Job Retention Success
  • Oct. 30 (3:30- 7 p.m.) - Module 11: Job Retention and Coaching II– Teaching the Job- Task Analysis and Systematic Instruction
  • Nov. 6 (3:30- 7 p.m.) - Module 12: Job Retention and Coaching III- Fading Support, Quality Services and Career Development
  • Nov. 13 (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.) - Mentor/Fieldwork Session #4 - Job Retention and Coaching (Zoom)
