Notice Regarding Resource Availability

We are updating our Adapted Literature and Lessons to ensure they fully comply with the U.S. Department of Justice’s final rule updating Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for web and mobile accessibility. 

**Please note: Most of these resources have been temporarily removed for remediation.**

If you would like to request specific files, please contact us at sherlockcenter@ric.edu, and we will be happy to provide them directly. There may be delays in responding based on volume of requests. 

Our resources remain searchable in the fields below. You can search by keyword or title in the “Search All Adapted Literature and Lessons” box or you can search by resource type, format, grade level and/or file type. Items are listed alphabetically.

The Sherlock Center documents the original author and source on all adapted materials.  The Sherlock Center also follows fair use guidance provided in the U.S. Copyright Office Fair Use Index in the creation and sharing of these resources.

CVICortical Visual Impairment

These materials have a black background and are created for students with cortical visual impairments who need resources with minimal movement, reduced color complexity and images with minimal details.

VIVisual Impairment

These resources have a black background and are created for students with a visual impairment who need high-contrast, focused images that convey story concepts.
